The latest film from fan-favorite filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, “Hypnotic” hits theaters this weekend. The film stars Ben Affleck and Alice Braga in a story that is full of twists and turns as what is real and what is all in your head is constantly changing. One constant is for sure, Affleck’s Danny Rourke is determined to find his missing daughter.
“Hypnotic” is a passion project for Rodriguez, just like many of his other unique films. He had been working on this one since 2002. Meaning this film took over 20 years to make it to the big screen. He was inspired by the re-release of a restored widescreen version of Hitchcock’s 1958 classic “Vertigo”.
With the release of “Hypnotic” in theaters, LRM Online’s Manny Gomez spoke with the lead actress in the film, Alice Braga. She plays a character named Diana Cruz, a gifted psychic that you meet early on in the film.
During our conversation, Braga shares with us her thoughts on the story by Rodriguez. We also joke about the difficulty of covering a film like this when almost any question could lead to a massive spoiler are things are constantly evolving. Braga goes on to also give us her opinion on hypnosis and how she prepared for the role. It’s a great conversation that you can check out below!
