Iron Fist Season 2 will hit Netflix on September 7 and so far all most of us have seen are some photos and descriptions from the Iron Fist Panel at SDCC 2018. With Iron Fist being rated very poorly by fans and critics, big changes are required for Season 2 to engage fully with audiences.

We know that Iron Fist Season 2 has a new showrunner in Raven Metzner and a new fight choreographer in Clayton Barber. I remain hopeful that Season 2 will be a really good story filled with a lot of Kung Fu action. The trailer above doesn’t really give us much to marvel at other than hints of more flashbacks to Kun Lun and a slow-motion action shot where Danny unleashes the Iron Fist into the ground.
I guess what I was always hoping for from Iron Fist was someone like Bruce Lee turning up in New York with his mad skills and a glowing super punch, as he defends the city and imparts his Kun Lun wisdom onto others. Maybe Season 2 can push things more in that direction and well away from whiny and gullible Danny Rand, the doormat. Danny certainly came across more mature in his one episode appearance in Luke Cage Season 2, which was in my opinion vastly superior to Season 1. I’d say things looking up for Marvel/Netflix TV universe, however, I thought Jessica Jones Season 2 was even worse than the first season, or should I say just as bad as Season 1, minus the brilliant David Tennant as Kilgrave.
I have watched all the Netflix shows so far, even though I had to force myself through a few of them, The Defenders included. So I will keep my fingers crossed that Iron Fist has a stellar second season.
What do you think of the trailer and what you’ve heard so far? Excited for Season 2 of Iron Fist or did Season 1 turn you off completely? Let us know in the usual place below.
