*The following article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Far From Home, you have been warned!*

One of the things Marvel Studios are trying to do with Spider-Man in the MCU is have him facing villains that have not yet been seen before on film. Spider-Man: Homecoming saw The Vulture’s first film appearance and Spider-Man: Far From Home saw Mysterio’s first appearance. Could Kraven the Hunter make his big screen debut in the third Spider-Man movie?
In Spider-Man: Far From Home after the death of Mysterio when we think all is going well for the web-head finally, we get that mid-credit sequence. Mysterio’s has made a fake video showing that Spider-Man is a menace and killed the ‘hero’ Mysterio for his own gains. First of all the fact that it was presented by J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson blew my mind, as I was hoping for that a couple weeks ago on another article. Then Mysterio reveals to the world that Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker. This is going to put a huge target on Spider-Man’s back, people could be hunting him down in the next movie, and you know where I am going with this?
Now director Jon Watts has provided some fuel for this prediction by declaring he’d love Kraven the Hunter for a villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 when speaking with Uproxx recently.
“Oh, I would love Kraven. It’s just the trick of how do you do Kraven in a movie? I mean, yeah, I always just try to start with what haven’t we seen before? And there’s so many Spider-Man villains, I mean, the fact that I got to, in a way, bring Hydro-Man and Molten Man to a movie, really, I get a kick out of that, even if they are fake. But, no, I don’t know who’s next. I always like to think about it in terms of what’s going to be the most difficult thing for Peter. So that’s going to be the next trick.”
The thing is, that when you think about that ending, things are perfectly set up for an adaptation of that classic storyline where Kraven is hunting Spider-Man. Especially if Kraven believes Spider-Man to be a villain that killed Mysterio. Though, it could also set the stage for The Sinister Six teaming up against Spider-Man now that his identity has been revealed as well.

How is Peter going to keep MJ, May, Ned and the others he cares about safe when everyone knows he’s Spider-Man. Maybe he will have to convince Kraven he isn’t a villain and that would probably require a second villain to make work, or another five villains? I watched Spider-Man: Far From Home this weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed myself, so I cannot wait for whatever comes next for Spider-Man in the MCU.
