Is Sauron in LOTR show Season 1? The latest Barside Buzz says yes! Rumored leaks from Fellowship of Fans says that Sauron does appear in the show’s opening season. FoF also claims to know the role being played by Game of Thrones Joseph Mawle, and it’s a bit strange. Check out the leaks FoF posted on social media below.
As always there are potential SPOILERS here for the LOTR show Season 1, though I would not say these will SPOIL too much. Judge the risk for yourself though as always.

EXCLUSIVE: Birdseye view shots of the "human village set" which the reported “Sauron” character and actor will be at and has been on for many months.
This is the set at the end of construction with most buildings there already built- 80% complete.

So why would Sauron (at this point he can look like anything he wants to) be hanging around a Human village? Trying to recruit people to his cause in the East perhaps? It was known that many Easterlings had gone over to Sauron’s side by the time of the Third Age.
EXCLUSIVE: Joseph Mawle is reportedly playing a character called “Adar” (Amazon original name) and is an elf but “corrupted” and “tortured”.
Joseph Mawle’s character “Adar” was also on the human village sets for a while (the same ones the "hooded figure" was on.

Who the hell is playing Sauron? In my opinion this would be the number one role any actor would want on this series. Sauron at this point in history is very active and not some hidden threat in Mordor. As for this Adar, that’s definitely a ‘created for the show’ role. However if this was man, say a great King of men, being tempted by a little Ring, that would make sense. However….

But the “hooded figure” and Mawle's character “Adar” also face off against each other.

UPDATE: As reported in previous episodes and leaks, this village is the same village that had been attacked by orcs until the village leader had to surrender.

An Elf? That just complicates things greatly in my eyes. I figured as I read this maybe Mawle would be one of the future Ring Wraiths. However that does not appear to be the case if he’s an Elf, a corrupted Elf is not something we hear much of in the mythology.
