J-Screen Event Red Carpet Interviews

J-Screen

It’s the East meets West event in Hollywood for a J-Screen Industry Panel & Networking event.

In its inaugural event, the event celebrates the talent behind the Japanese and AAPI industry of both film and television.

The event featured a group of panelists in discussion of the current and future prospects of television and filmmaking with Emmy-winning editor of Shogun Aika Miyake, director of BEEF and Rental Family Hikari, and Masi Oka, the voice actor in Blue Eye Samurai. CAPE CEO and executive director Michelle Sughihara moderated the panel.

In addition, there were highlighted invited guests from Japan, including Kore-Eda Hirokazu, director of Monster and Shoplifters; Shô Tsukikawa, director of Yu-Yu Hakusho; and Show Kasamatsu, actor in MAX’s Tokyo Vice. There was a brief Q&A session with each distinguished guest.

Attendees of the event were also treated to a networking event after the presentation.
