In a recent interview DCU boss James Gunn says he’s hopeful of getting his next ‘Superman Saga’ project into production soon. We know Gunn has been scripting a new film, we know it has Superman in it heavily, but it’s not a direct Superman sequel, i.e. Superman 2. Now the studio boss and writer/director says he has a treatment finished and… well check the quote out for yourself below when he spoke to THR.
“I’ve already finished the treatment for the next story in what I’ll call the ‘Superman Saga.’ The treatment is done, which means a very, very worked out treatment. I’m working on that and hopefully going into production on that not too far away from today.”
There have been some theories that this film will act as a sequel to both Superman and Supergirl and pair both together in a story. That does seems likely, but we don’t know anything really.

In the same interview Gunn also said he thinks Peacemaker Season 2 is the best thing he’s ever done. He actually said the same for Peacemaker Season 1, and I agree with his opinion there. So I’m even more hyped for Peacemaker Season 2.
“Lots of guest stars coming up, lots of characters that are showing up that we’ve already met in Superman. I don’t think there’s anything that I’ve ever done that I love more than this season of Peacemaker, so I’m so excited for people to see it.”
I guess we will find out a name, or basic pitch of this next instalment in the ‘Superman Saga’ whenever James Gunn and Peter Safran decide to tell us.
So what do you think of James Gunn’s comments about his next film going into production sooner than we perhaps thought? What do you think will be the next part of this ‘Superman Saga’ Gunn refers to? Thoughts below.
