Some Star Wars news folks as Deadline reports Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) has been cast in The Mandalorian and Grogu. With such a high profile star, I’m sure he’ll be playing a pivotal role. Let me just check…..Oh!
‘The Star Wars Mandalorian & Grogu movie has added The Bear star Jeremy Allen White in the role of Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt, Deadline has confirmed. It’s a notably sized role; no cameo here.’
Ah, now we all wanted Rotta the Hutt back, right folks? Remember the animated The Clone Wars series was decent, but it had a damn awful movie as it’s first episode. With a terrible plot revolving around the fate of Jabba’s son Rotta the Hutt during The Clone Wars.

Given that The Mandalorian and Grogu is set more than 5 years after Return of the Jedi, I assume little annoying Rotta has grown up. It is clear White is voicing the CGI, or practical character. Actually, bringing back the Hutt’s as an antagonist isn’t a bad idea. I’m not sure why we need a star like White voicing the role though? Will he speak in English/Basic?
I genuinely have no idea and you’ll be aware that leaks for this movie have been almost non-existent. The best source of information we have is the potato quality footage passed online from D23. Therefore, outside of Mando, Grogu and now Rotta, the only other characters we know of are Zeb and Babu Frick as seen in the footage. I guess we will find out soon enough. I’m expecting this is the first of a few details coming out whilst the movie sits in post-production.
