According to the latest Barside Buzz, Jessica Jones has been replaced by Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again. The reason is seemingly scheduling conflicts with actress Kirsten Ritter. According to the insider community Ritter was supposed to make her MCU return in Dardevil: Born Again. However Ritter can no longer appear due to scheduling conflicts. As such the role is being retooled to instead re-introduce Jon Bernthal as Punisher.

Basically Born Again is re-introducing the Netflix characters to the mainstream and they planned to bring in Ritter but there’s a scheduling problem for Born Again. As you know this is all rumor until the bald Feige sings, and he aint peeped a note. It’s to my mind entirely possible for Ritter still to turn up, even if the part is reduced. However, having Bernthal return as Punisher is very welcome. Daredevil Season 2 was Benrthal at his best as Punisher. I found myself a little disappointed with Punisher Season 1 and 2 on the back of his debut, but that’s not on Benthal himself.

As you can see from the topmost post there is also a rumor that Maya Lopez will return in Daredevil: Born Again. however I think most fans probably felt that was highly likely anyway given Echo is where we will next see both Murdock and Fisk show up.

There was also a rumor from Daniel RPK’s Patreon recently that Elden Henson (Foggy) was going to return to reprise his role for Born Again. So far I’ve not heard any rumors about Deborah Ann Woll returning as Karen, but you’ve got to think that’s likely if Foggy is back?

I guess we’ll find out soon enough when filming begins.
