Jessica Jones Season 3 Poster And Synopsis – First Trailer Due To Hit Later Today

Jessica Jones Season 3 will most definitely be the last of The Defenders Marvel shows to appear on Netflix. We still don’t know if there is life outside Netflix for these characters on Hulu, but it will be at least another two years before we see Jessica Jones appear anywhere else. Netflix’s exclusivity deal with Marvel means that Marvel cannot have a character appear elsewhere for two years after they last appear on Netflix. So whilst the likes of Daredevil could show up elsewhere as early as 2021, it seems more likely Jessica Jones couldn’t come back till at least 2022. But, hey that’s a best guess from what we know only.

Season 3 of Jessica Jones will hit Netflix on June 14th, just over a week from now and marketing for the show has been scarce so far. Late yesterday we got a new poster, a new synopsis, and a promise of the first trailer to arrive later today. Check the poster out below from the official Twitter account interestingly renamed Jessica Jones is a fraud.

We also have this synopsis to speculate upon,

When Jessica (Krysten Ritter) crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath, she and Trish (Rachael Taylor) must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down. But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both.

So one must wonder just who this mysterious person is behind the photo of Jessica. Is this the highly intelligent psychopath mentioned in the synopsis? Is this villain simply going to be a catalyst to put Jessica Jones and Trish Walker against one another as the climax? These are questions we probably won’t be able to answer until next week.

I do feel like Jessica Jones needs a good villain to make it work, I loved Tennant’s portrayal of Kilgrave in Season 1, but I must admit I like Tennant in everything, so perhaps I’m biased. I did feel like Jessica Jones second season really suffered from not having a clear antagonist and it all became rather dull and plodding. Despite Jessica Jones not being my most anticipated show to watch, I do hope it’s a vast improvement on Season 2, which was for me, the worst of the Netflix Marvel shows to date, though not far below Iron Fist Season 1 and Luke Cage Season 1.

Stay tuned to LRM Online throughout the day and we will share the new trailer as soon as it drops. Use the usual space below to tell us what you think is going in Jessica Jones Season 3, or anything else JJ related?
