Is John Williams back scoring Star Wars for Obi-Wan Kenobi? The answer I am 100% confident is, yes. However exactly what that means, is Williams scoring the whole show, is he scoring one moment or a piece of the show in some way? I cannot tell you. I had hoped to break this news in a few more days, once we had gathered some more information. However best laid plans…. Let me explain.
UPDATE: John Williams was conformed as being back to score the Obi-Wan Kenobi ‘theme’ by Variety, a few hours after we published this article.
Original story below
Yesterday LRM‘s source at Lucasfilm contacted Shockey who handles most of the ‘source interactions’ for us here. We were told that John Williams was helping to score Obi-Wan Kenobi. I made the decision not to run this yet as I wanted to get more information first. Is Williams scoring the whole show, is he just aiding another composer etc? I felt like the info we did get was a little too open. However I then watched this video interview below last night.
This is an interview from TORn with the writer of the recent Vanity Fair articles on The Rings of Power. I was therefore watching it for any new details shared, which there was a few, but I would say not enough for an article about it all.
Back to Star Wars, at roughly 01:53:00 the host begins to mention a Star Wars scoop they have gotten.
Apparently John Williams was in a recording studio yesterday with an orchestra and the name on the door outside was Kenobi.

Feeling like I have to cover the story now, I figured I’d give our readers all the facts. Clearly Williams is doing work for Obi-Wan Kenobi but again what the extent of that work is, we cannot yet say? If I get any more information on this I will update. I’d love if Williams was scoring the whole show, but I find that hard to believe in all honesty.
That’s the insider industry folks, a day late and a dollar short, on my call.
Andor Composer Revealed
In another Star Wars composer story, Film Music Reporter has run a story saying that Nicholas Britell (Cruella, Vice) will score Andor.
And that’s all I have to say about that for now.
What do you think about John Williams back scoring Star Wars for Obi-Wan Kenobi? Should we reveal even the small leaks we get as soon as we get them, or wait to try and get more information? Thoughts below as always.
