Long before we knew that Robert Pattinson would be taking on the cape and cowl for Matt Reeves’ Batman films, there was already fans online giving their opinions on who should play what character, even some actors an actresses have put in their two cents. One of those actors is Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf in Frozen, has been teasing fans for a while now about his interest in taking on the role of Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin.

Today via Gad’s personal Twitter account he has confirmed that he will not be taking on the role of The Penguin. A role that had previously been taken by Danny DeVito in Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns. He takes the time to let everyone know how much of a good time he had trolling his followers and that he appreciates the love and fan art. check out the Tweet below.

The rumors are that Penguin along with the Riddler, Catwoman and Firefly are some of the characters that will be opposite Pattinson’s Batman. The plot details for the film are still under wraps, but it seems like Reeve’s film will follow Batman during his formative years in Gotham City, focusing on his detective skills that he is known for in the comic books.

Reeve’s Batman is said to begin filming in early 2020. The next DC film to be released will be Todd Phillip’s Joker on October 4th, 2019.
