As per a report from Variety, Jurassic World 4 will shoot across the globe and we have some basic story details. That’s if anyone is still interested in this franchise? I haven’t watched one of these movies in a theater since Jurassic World itself. Which, was enough to tell me this franchise had finally jumped the T-Rex.
As per the trade;
‘Universal Pictures’ “Jurassic World 4” movie is set to make use of locations in Thailand as well as studios in Malta and the U.K.’
‘The Gareth Edwards-directed picture, produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, is expected to star Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise and David Iacono.’
That is a good cast. The Jurassic movies still do well enough that I’ll bet this next instalment gets a sizeable budget. How long though before fans get fed up watching CGI Dinosaurs chase Hollywood A listers through jungles? I mean, at one point people thought the Jaws franchise would go in forever, until the money disappeared.
‘With a script by David Koepp, the new movie is touted as “a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island.” The new film has also been labeled as “Jurassic World 4” and “Jurassic City.”’

There will always be someone with a new idea to take this franchise further. However, as time has gone on the quality of the stories being told has reduced dramatically. It’s hard to fathom that Jurassic Park, one of Spielberg’s biggest ever movies is in the same franchise as Jurassic World Dominion. I started watching, when it was on TV and gave up after around 20-30 minutes.
At least Colin Trevorrow isn’t directing this one, or seemingly writing it. Don’t think I’ve liked a single film that man has made I’ve seen. Though, I’ll admit, average as it was his treatment for Star Wars Episode 9 was still an improvement on what we got, slightly. Thought that was not a high bar, was it?
