The creator of Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon gained her experience by making several short films. In 2014 she used one of them, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night to make her feature-film debut as writer and director. A film that granted her awards and nominations in film festivals around the world. The Bad Batch was her second feature film with Jason Momoa and Keanue Reeves. Later this year her work as a director will be seen in the Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities series.

Hours before the Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon Los Angeles premiere I was connected with Kate Hudson and Ana Lily Amirpour. Hudson discussed her favorite scenes, the cat fight and the choreography involved. While Amirpour spoke about the antagonist that she has been passing on in all her films. For some fun and relating to the film, I asked them what their cookie fortune would say today.
