Kevin Feige On Marvel’s Secrets And How Tricky It’s Become To Keep Them

During the recent Multiverse of Madness virtual press conference, there were comments from Kevin Feige on Marvel’s secrets. Notably Feige talked about how tricky it has become to keep secrets from getting out. However the Marvel Studios head also spoke about how getting the movie right is more important. Therefore, if fans have heard a few details they still won’t be disappointed when they see the movie.

Readers may or may not be aware? There was some massive spoilers dropped online over the weekend for this Doctor Strange sequel. In addition it’s fair to say almost every aspect of Spider-Man: No Way Home was leaked prior to release. It seems not every movie or show for Marvel suffers from the same leaks. However let’s face it, there is an entire industry of Marvel leakers all competing to find the latest news. In addition there are thousands upon thousands of fans who are happy to seek out any details they can, even if it spoils the movie.

It has become increasingly tricky for those who want a fresh experience to have one with Marvel. So far it has become a case of. stay off social media for a week prior to release and go opening weekend. or you may get spoiled.

Kevin Feige

Here is what Feige had to say at the pc (via Murphy’s Multiverse)

“The unfortunate truth is you don’t (close down all leaks), and therefore you need to make sure that the experience itself works, regardless of what has been spoiled or not. We still do as good a job as we can and I think a lot of people are getting good at not spreading it. You know somebody steals something, don’t spread it around because it just potentially lessens the experience, but in a lot of ways, No Way Home showed that it did not lessen the experience, so we will continue to do the best we can, but the most important thing is delivering the movie or the show that delivers regardless of what you know going in.”

I think most fans knew a lot of the surprises in No Way Home, but it didn’t stop that movie from becoming a fan favorite, and a box office smash. One suspects the same will be true of Multiverse of Madness. Though, I don’t expect quite the same level of box office returns that No Way Home managed. Frankly, I think the speculation and rumors all helped to hype No Way Home. My guess is the same will happen for Multiverse of Madness. However if you are a spoiler free kinda person? Well,  I’d suggest staying away from social media and getting tickets early as the whole movie seems out there now.

I’m a lost cause for spoilers given my job here. However for everyone else there is always a choice to be made. What do you think of the comments of Kevin Feige on Marvel’s secrets and how difficult it has become to keep them secret? Thoughts below, or in Discord, as always.
