According to a new report, Marvel boss Kevin Feige is almost solely focused on completing Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. The information here comes from Deadline journalist Justin Kroll who made an appearance on the My Moms Basement Podcast shared some information he’s heard from Marvel Studios sources.
“Feige has been so stretched thin with the TV shows and all these other things, and then, maybe doing a soft reboot, all these things. He has been solely focused on this [Doomsday] and Secret Wars for, like, a year straight. Like, this has been it.”
“He puts Jake Schreier as the director of X-Men. Other than that, he’s kind of let Amy Pascal handle a lot of the Spider-Man stuff. He’s focused on this return. So just know that he’s in London all the time. If that dude has his mindset on just the one thing, like he used to do back in the day with Iron Man or Thor, they turn out good. It’s when he has, like, eight other things, it gets a little tougher.”

Another exception mentioned by Kroll was the casting of Sadie Sink in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This could again point to some evidence Sink is playing the MCU’s Jean Grey. However, that has yet to be confirmed for definite.
It seems obvious to me of course that Feige is focused on the two Avengers films as that’s all that’s really in production right now. Some fans may be concerned if Pascal is looking after Brand New Day, but I’m sure the script and the director choice also had to get approval from Feige. In other words, if you have the right script and the right director, then all Pascal’s job is, is to enable that process.
I certainly do hope that Avengers: Doomsday, Secret Wars and Brand New Day are all great movies. I’m sure most Marvel fans do. I guess by this time in 2027 we’ll already have two of those films to judge for ourselves and one more to go.
