It’s understandable that Kit Harington is worried about being typecast after playing over a decade as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. Snow is what the world recognizes him for, but it is finished, and for Harington, he has to forge himself a new career away from Westeros.
The next big opportunity that has presented itself to Harington is the role of Black Knight aka Dan Whitman in the MCU’s upcoming Eternals movie. Harington recently spoke at a business conference and you can catch his comments within his Twitter post below. Harington talked a little about moving away from a typical fantasy hero role like Jon Snow, however, he also spoke about playing Black Knight for Marvel in Eternals also.
“Now I’m going with a Marvel movie. I’m going on to play a superhero, which is cool. I don’t know what I can say about it, I’m scared to sort of even mention it, I’m trying to choose things as far away from Jon Snow as possible, but I’m playing a superhero and he’s got a sword.”

The thing is, I am not sure that swapping Jon Snow, with a special sword called Long Claw, for a Dan Whitman, a knight with another magical sword is really pushing out as being something different? Of course, the main difference here is that Dan Whitman is a superhero, but I think even more important than that, is the fact this is an MCU movie, and I’m sure Harington was willing to be more open to a role like this because it was Marvel chasing him for it.
It’s hard to say how big of a role Harington will have in Eternals considering how late in the game he was announced and the fact that Black Knight isn’t actually an Eternal as far as the comic books go. But perhaps a smaller role in this movie could lead to a larger role down the line for Harington’s Black Knight?

Is this too similar to Jon Snow, does it matter as it is the MCU juggernaut he’s signing onto? Thoughts, leave them, below, usual place, thanks!
