After the character was confirmed in a recent trailer Knull co-creator Donny Cates says he’s now read the script for Venom: The Last Dance. Cates sounds pleased by what Sony has done. Though, I bet he’s just happy as Larry that the character has made it to live-action, and he’s likely getting some cash.
Cates created Knull alongside Ryan Stegman. Here is what Cates had to say on social media.
“Okay, bottom line: I turn 40 today and there’s a movie being made where a character that Ryan Stegman and I created is fighting a character Todd McFarlane created. And, guess what? Everything else aside… nothing is going to rob me of thinking that’s fucking rad.”
“Also, I’ve been talking with Sony and I read a script for #VenomTheLastDance, and I’ll say this; it is so much bigger, and so much more ambitious than you can imagine. And, um….KNULL. Holy shit.”

Of course, for me the only story in this is the rumor (see above) that both Venom and Knull will next appear within Spider-Man 4 in the MCU. I’m not to keen on the idea because I don’t like Sony’s/Hardy’s version of Venom. As for Knull I don’t know much about him as the character was created long after my comic book collecting days ended.
I guess if it’s true then Cates is one very happy bunny. I’m sure a check will be coming for that soon as well. How well it will work as an MCU Spider-Man movie I do not know? Any previous interaction between the MCU and the SSMU has been minimal. For me it always felt like through gritted teeth from Marvel. I cannot imagine Kevin Feige thought this was a great idea, but, maybe I’m wrong?
