DCU and MCU news as Kumail Nanjiani confirmed as Booster Gold and we have a Daredevil: Born Again Part 2 filming window. The information comes from TCC, however, it’s not a rumor. The outlet were in attendance at GalaxyCon in Raleigh and spoke to two stars who were there.
DCU
Let’s start with the DCU as we know Kumail Nanjiani was heavily rumored to have landed the part of Booster Gold in the DCU. DC boss James Gunn never confirmed or denied the rumor at the time. Well, now Xolo Maridueña, who plays Blue Beetle confirmed to the outlet his excitement at Nanjiani being cast as Booster. As you’d guess it is expected the pair will work together at some point in the DCU. One would imagine it is the as yet not greenlit Booster Gold series in development.
‘In other news for DC fans, when I asked about the Booster Gold rumors that were circulating, Xolo Maridueña told me that Kumail Nanjiani is indeed cast as Booster Gold. He briefly mentioned his excitement at the prospect of a future team up between Blue Beetle and Booster Gold in the DCU.’

I will warn this could merely have been Maridueña believing the rumors as fact. Alternatively he could have simply thought the interviewer was confirming new information. However, for now we’d have to go with the casting being confirmed. Well, unless Gunn says otherwise. Since Gunn already chose not to debunk this fully, I have a feeling it’s legit.
MCU
The outlet also spoke to Daredevil star Charlie Cox. Unsurprisingly Cox suggested he will be in the D23 panel coming up on August 9th. He also suggested that Part 2 of Born Again would begin filming later this year.
‘It seems Cox is likely to participate in Marvel’s expected D23 panel, which should showcase some of the upcoming Disney + shows that did not appear at SDCC. Along with D23, while speaking with him, Charlie Cox mentioned potentially attending New York Comic Con for promotion of Daredevil: Born Again as well. While NYCC is not confirmed yet for Daredevil: Born Again, the prospect of Marvel returning to NYCC is quite interesting.’
‘He also briefly mentioned he’s eagerly awaiting the second part of Daredevil: Born Again to begin filming, which is expected to begin filming later in the year.’
Not anything major. However, worth noting what the current timeline is for the show. Especially given how many delays it had during the strikes. Then the show was practically rewritten and reshot.
