The LEGO Group is bringing back the spirit of the 90s with LEGO® Brickbuster Video, an exclusive fan experience at SDCC 2023. Booth #2829 will be transformed into a fantastical and retro “storefront,” where attendees can immerse themselves in the worlds of LEGO and their favorite entertainment and gaming properties. The event promises interactive photo moments, hands-on building activities, and much more.

LEGO Brickbuster Video will offer visitors an immersive retro video store experience, complete with beloved properties and interactive gaming kiosks. Over 50 LEGO building sets will be on display, including exciting new additions such as LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog™, LEGO DreamZzz™, LEGO Ninjago®, LEGO Star Wars™, LEGO Marvel, and LEGO Super Mario™. Additionally, LEGO Design Manager Pete Donner will be available to discuss the creation of photo opportunities that perfectly capture the video store vibe.

Fans can also look forward to stepping into photo ops with life-size LEGO models, including some designed in a new ‘movie standee’ style. Families will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on LEGO building, crafting their own creations for the iconic “New Releases” wall. To add to the excitement, a convention-wide scavenger hunt will feature the familiar clamshell VHS case, with prizes redeemable via the “Brick Drop” at the LEGO Brickbuster Video info desk.

For those eager to make a purchase, a LEGO Store pop-up will be available, offering the chance to buy select LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog™, LEGO MARVEL™, LEGO Star Wars™, LEGO Super Mario™ sets before their official release dates. Other fan-favorite LEGO sets will also be available. Surprise giveaways await lucky attendees, including LEGO Brickbuster Video Membership Cards and exclusive pins. Visitors can also enjoy the Free Build Your Own Minifigure experience, with a limited-edition LEGO Brickbuster Video themed torso.

The event will feature daily signings with notable personalities, such as the cast of LEGO DREAMZzz™ on Thursday at 12 p.m., LEGO Masters’ judge Amy Corbett and Season 3 winner Stacey Roy on Friday at 12 p.m., and the LEGO Ninjago cast on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Moreover, LEGO Design Manager and Master Builder Pete Donner will participate in a Q&A session on Friday from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

Apart from LEGO Brickbuster Video, attendees can further indulge in their LEGO fandom through panels and the IMDb experience. The LEGO Group will host two exciting panels: “I had a DreamZzz last night about Ninjago” on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Room 6BCF, and “LEGO® Masters: Behind the Brick” on Friday from 4 to 5 p.m. in Room 25ABC.

Additionally, the IMDboat Experience and LEGO® DreamZzz™ will take place from July 20 to 22. Guests can contribute to a massive 10’x10′ LEGO DREAMZzz™ Mystery Mural, built entirely of LEGO bricks, which will reveal a mystery photo by the end of the three-day event. On Thursday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., the IMDboat will host a LEGO DREAMZzz™ sleepover-themed watch party open to the public.
