The latest Barside Buzz around Lanterns is that love interest details have been leaked for both John and Hal in the series. This week of course saw the confirmation finally that Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler will lead the DCU series on HBO as John Stewart and Hal Jordan respectively. However, according to some recent claims from Nexus Point News both the leads will have love interests.

Kelly MacDonald has been offered one of the female leads in ‘LANTERNS’.

However, @ApocHorseman (who wrote that other post above) followed up with this;
“As I reported yesterday, Hal’s love interest is the town’s sheriff Kerrie Kane,” they reveal. “John does get into an affair with an older woman named Zoe. She’s a Native American woman and the only person of color in an all white town.”
“Zoe’s married to a businessman named Dillon and he’s described as one of the antagonists of the series. Not sure if any of these are codenames or not.”

That’s quite a bit of information, I mean, is the script flying around? Perhaps these are notes from the casting calls? Who knows, but it is unusual to have clear details like that before production even begins. As always take this with a pinch of salt. However, to be that specific you gotta be pretty confident right? NPN hasn’t quite built up enough of a hit rate for me to judge them fully yet. So far though, so good, and I am counting.
Oh, and by the way, James Gunn today confirmed both Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler on Threads, just so you know it’s very official now. Kelly McDonald as yet has not been confirmed, but we shall see as the days go by.
