For actors Sidney Nicole Rogers and Ken Lawson, Lumina is an epic science fiction production with sets, costumes, and aliens.

The cast also includes Rupert Lazarus, Andrea Tivadar, Eleanor Williams, and Eric Roberts.

Here is the official synopsis for Lumina:

PATRICIA, a free-spirited Nubian hippie and amateur videographer, is staying at the house of her rich friend, ALEX, who decides to throw a party that will reunite old friends and introduce them to his new girl, TATIANA. The night seems destined for drama when he invites DELILAH, an old girlfriend who doesn’t hide her feelings for him. Despite the tension running through the celebration, the night goes off without a hitch. Everything changes with the sudden appearance of blinding lights from the sky. One second they’re there, the next they’re gone, and the only thing for sure is that Tatiana has disappeared.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actors Sidney Nicole Rogers and Ken Lawson about their roles, aliens, the cast, production sets, and costumes.

Sidney Nicole Rogers fell in love with acting at the age of four and was featured in stage plays, films, and commercials. In 2017, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy College and Conservatory (AMDA) in Los Angeles. She appeared in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, Stop The Bleeding, Threads, and Chef Julian. She played the lead roles in The Wrong Cruise, DUMPED, Face Forward, and Just Us.

Ken Lawson started his acting career portraying Carl in the sitcom In the House. Later, he was cast as T in the UPN sitcom The Parkes, a spin-off of Moesha. Since then, he made appearances in Malibu’s Most Wanted, Steppin: The Movie, and Pimp 24/7. In 2023, he appeared as a minor recurring character of Officer Driver in BET soap opera The Oval.

Lumina is in select theaters on Friday, July 12.
