M. Night Shyamalan is still the master of twists and turns.
In his latest mystery thriller Old, a simple vacation on a secluded beach proved to be more than expected as they age quickly to the point, they lived their entire lives in a single day.
The film stars Gael Garcia Bernal (Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle), Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread), Rufus Sewell (Amazon’s The Man in High Castle), Ken Leung (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Jupiter Ascending), Abbey Lee (HBO’s Lovecraft Country), Aaron Pierre (Syfy’s Krypton), Alex Wolff (Hereditary), Embeth Davidtz (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Eliza Scanlen (Little Women), Emun Elliott (Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens), Kathleen Chalfant (Showtime’s The Affair), and Thomasin McKenzi (Jojo Rabbit). M. Night Shyamalan directed the movie based on the graphic novel Sandcastle by Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters.

No doubt this is another terrifying chapter. It’ll be fun to guess the twisted ending for this film and explain their mysterious aging process. The only thing certain that’s unusual, Old doesn’t appear to take place anywhere near Shyamalan’s favorite city—Philadelphia. Then again, maybe the family is from Philadelphia.
Old is in theaters on July 23.
