According to new Barside Buzz, Mark Ruffalo will return as The Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The information comes from Nexus Point News and as yet, I’ve still to determine how much I trust this new source. Benefit of the doubt for now though, as so far so good.
The outlet claims Ruffalo has a substantial role to play in the film. They also claim they’ve heard filming could get underway as early as July this year.
“Banner’s appearance will be much larger than a cameo, and Ruffalo will have a substantial role in the film.”
All MCU Spider-Man films this far have featured a big MCU character alongside Holland’s Spider-Man. Ruffalo’s Hulk, an OG Avenger, would count. This of course comes on the heels of recent potential leaks regarding the movies villains.
Recent claims we covered last week point to Scorpion, Tombstone and Boomerang concept art being seen. However, that same individual also revealed to someone in DM’s that they saw Hulk and Tarantula art also. Though I’ll stress to take this all with a pinch of salt until we have corroborating evidence.

This was before the Hulk claim from NPN, I’ll say that. However, I’m still not completely convinced that villains leak is genuine. See related article above for my thoughts on that and where I have some red flags.
As for my thoughts on this rumor? Well, I think Hulk should have been in Brave New World., that film is a Hulk sequel with Captain America shoved in. However, whether Hulk works in Brand New Day remains to be seen? Additionally, this could explain why Ruffalo hasn’t been announced for Doomsday, as yet. What do you think of this rumor that Mark Ruffalo will play Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day? Thoughts below in the usual spot.
