Marvel’s rumored detective series is actually a Special, what is next for Punisher and we may get a new Doomsday trailer very soon. That’s today’s Marvel Barside Buzz and we will start with a correction from source on a recent rumor we shared.

Namely that Marvel were developing an unnamed detective series. The source for this was Daniel RPK and the leaker has now corrected this to say it is not a series, but a Special Presentation. In other words, it’s a pilot and then they’ll see what happens next later.

Talking of which, Daniel says Marvel are currently deciding how to follow up their last Special, Punisher: One Last Kill. The quandary he says for Marvel is whether to make a series or a movie?

I absolutley loved One Last Kill, but it felt like a teaser for something even bigger and better and honestly for me, I think it’s a movie. I described One Last Kill‘s finale as a cross between The Raid, Death Wish 3 and therefore I think an R rated movie will suit this best.

Frank is lying low after the events of Brand New Day, Ma Gnucci has found where he is and hired a team of elite ‘punks’ to take him out. Cue Frank offing them all and working his way back to the source. Only issue with that is that Doomsday and Secret Wars kinda need to happen before that, and X-Men, Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3. So the earliest we’d see a Punisher movie is 2029. Whereas, outside of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 we don’t have much we know is coming for TV in 2027 or on.

Finally today we have some trailer news. Cryptic HD is hearing that a trailer for the new season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is coming in October. Initially he said a new Doomsday trailer was also due, but he corrected this to say it may actually be this month we get that new trailer.

This would make sense given that Avengers: Endgame Encore is out September 25. One wonders if there will be two trailers, one exclusive to theatres at the end of Endgame Encore and one for the public to get them going to see Endgame Encore for more? Guess we will see soon enough.
