Part 2 of today’s Marvel Buzz has rumors for Cynthia Erivo for Storm, Steven Yeun in Brand New Day, Chloe Bennett’s return and… Daniel Day-Lewis? Let’s get through them one by one. I only recently started covering insider MTTSH again because her hit rate went up lately, with some big scoops. This set of rumors all come from the insider, however, at least one of them I cannot buy.
Let’s start with Wicked star Cynthia Erivo who is rumored to up for the role of Storm in the X-Men reboot.

Interesting and Erivo is a hot property right now. I can see it being explored at least. Whether Erivo agrees is another matter entirely.
Next up, MTTSH states she’s heard Steven Yeun is interested in a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now this would be a back up of a rumor begun by Jeff Sneider who suggested Yeun for Mister Negative whom he claims is the villain of the film.

Now onto an old favourite for scoopers. The ever impending return of Chloe Bennett as Quake. Bennett starred as Quake in Agents of SHIELD, but that old TV series has pretty much made itself an alt-Universe at this point, with almost no crossover. However, I guess until this Multiverse Saga has ended there’s always the chance Quake’s Universe makes an appearance.

We’ll see, This one pops up every 6 months or so and we’ve yet to see a return happen yet. Oh and this is not the one I don’t buy by the way, that comes next.

Nah, I don’t buy it. I mean, I could totally see there being a meeting where senior execs fancast who they’d like to see in some roles. Daniel Day-Lewis being mentioned as a dream choice would be reasonable. However, seriously thinking of going after DDL and actually getting him? No chance!
Day-Lewis is renowned for his method acting which has saw him win countless Oscar’s and been nominated for more. It takes so much out of him that he retired a still relatively young man. But he has retired, for years now, and I’m supposed to think he’s going to sign on for a decade of X-Men movies?
We recently heard rumors that Colman Domingo was considered for Professor X. Denzel Washington, for Magneto. However I have a similar issue with Denzel playing Magneto. The veteran actor has indicated his film career is nearing the end. We also have several hints that Ryan Coogler wants him for Black Panther 3.
So yeah, can’t see it myself, but If I’m wrong I’ll hold my hands up.
