What If…? For my friends and me, it is usually the beginning of a long back and forth conversation at the bar about our favorite pop culture icons. Leading to some agreements but mostly debates about our different ideas. Just in the Marvel Universe alone, there are so many cases of What If…? That you can spend seemingly a lifetime putting together different scenarios for all the amazing characters and storylines.

With that same spirit of exploration, Marvel Studios has released the trailer for their upcoming animated series, Marvel Studios’ What If…? You can check it out below along with a new poster.

I do love that it kicks off with what is considered the beginnings of the MCU with Tony Stark. As we can see in the trailer, the result is a lot different as he is saved by Killmonger. Then we see what I consider the most exciting part of the trailer, Peggy Carter who has received the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rodgers. In what I consider a strange ark, we are also going to get to see Black Panther, T’Challa as Starlord of all people. Watching over all of this will be Uatu The Watcher, who claims to only be a spectator, but we’ll see.

Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios’ What If…?

Disney+ unveiled a new trailer and poster today for Marvel Studios’ “What If…?,” showcasing the compelling series that reimagines famous events from films in the MCU. Creating a multiverse of infinite possibilities, “What If… ?” features fan-favorite characters, including Peggy Carter, T’Challa, Doctor Strange, Killmonger, Thor and more. 

The new series, directed by Bryan Andrews with AC Bradley as head writer, features signature MCU action with a curious twist. Marvel Studios’ first-ever animated series launches on Disney+ on Wednesday, August 11.

I am very interested in the stories that will be presented in this series. However, it would seem that for me, this style of animation is going to be an acquired taste as I am not at all impressed by it.
