According to new Barside Buzz, Marvel’s X-Men reboot will release in theatres on May 5, 2028. The year of 2028 to be fair is exactly when we expected this movie from director Jake Schreier. Set to feature a brand new cast of X-Men to inhabit the MCU post-Secret Wars, the film is casting for it’s mutants now. It seems like 2026 will see the start of production, but we are really not sure on that despite today’s rumors.
The information comes from Jeff Sneider on his The InSneider Newsletter. Sneider is a pretty reliable source, so here’s what he says.
“Speaking of the *X-Men* franchise, I’m told that Marvel will soon announce a release date for the new movie from *Thunderbolts* director **Jake Schreier**. Right now, Disney is holding three 2028 dates for Marvel movies — Feb. 18, May 5, and Nov. 10 — and I revealed on today’s episode of The Hot Mic, that *X-Men* will arrive on May 5, 2028.”

That leaves us scratching our heads as to what those other two Marvel movies will be. Best guess would be Blade taking one of those slots after how long it’s been in development. Outside of that, all bets are off, it could be anything at this point.
However, whatever those other movies are, unless they say Avengers or Spider-Man in the tile, then the X-Men reboot will be the big Marvel movie of 2028.
