Check out the full trailer for Maul – Shadow Lord, the latest animated Star Wars series coming to Disney+ starring popular villain Darth Maul. For Star Wars fans of only the movies and live-action shows, you probably don’t even know Darth Maul survived being cut in half. In fact the only live-action mention of Maul since The Phantom Menace was the post-credit scene in Solo, which probably confused many.
But yes, Darth Maul lived, for a while, eventually being finished off by Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine during the Star Wars: Rebels animated series. Still, we know based on that Solo post-credit and other media that there remains a lot of untold stories with Maul. How did he become the big crime kingpin we see in Rebels and Solo?
Well that’s what Maul – Shadow Lord is about. The Empire wants him dead, so Maul is on the run and building himself back from nothing.

I’ll probably watch this at some point, the visuals look a cut above previous animated series albeit in the same TCW style. Still, I cant say I’m all that hyped to see more of Darth Maul doing his crime thing.

Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.
Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord premieres with two episodes on Disney+ on April 6. Each week will see two episodes released, with the final two coming on May the 4th.
