Maybe Elephants | Torill Kove on Animated Short Film of Family Life in Nairobi – Animation Is Film 2024

Maybe Elephants from Torill Kove

Torill Kove had certain memories of her family living in Nairobi as a teen. In the coming-of-age animated short film Maybe Elephants, Kove retells the time her family relocated to Kenya and their brief adventures and relationship together.

Here is the brief synopsis:

In the 70s, three rebellious teenage daughters, a restless mother, a father struggling with potatoes, and maybe some elephants, find themselves in bustling Nairobi. The family will never be the same.

Torill Kove narrates the film about her memories of eventful family trips and timeless teen antics around moments of adolescent epiphany. The short film features colorful 2D animation with beautiful scores of music.
