According to the latest Barside Buzz, there’s an MCU set video game in development. So far whilst there have been a few Marvel games, none have been set in the MCU. Some were very similar, but never truly full licenced in that way to be a part of the same story. What form that game could take, or who is developing it? No idea yet sorry.

This one comes from full time leaker MTTSH, whom I’m not covering due to reduced hit rate. However, this one also has some back up. On a repost of MTTSH subs only post by one of the usual accounts that do so, Daniel RPK retweeted it. It would seem unlikely Daniel has not heard of this also if he’s essentially reposting t. Ergo, I felt we had best cover it.

The post below is the one retweeted by RPK.

As you can see there are not many details. Therefore my guess is, this is very early stages. If you know the games industry, that means it still might get canned.

Frankly, one of the areas Disney has dramatically failed to capitalise on with these mega franchises is the video game industry. Both the MCU and the Star Wars universes have so much potential for successful games. However, mostly what we have gotten were cheap cash brag games from both franchises for the most part.

Imagine a Deadpool and Wolverine co-op game? It practically writes itself. Iron Man game using similar game mechanics to Arkham Asylum games….easy win.

What do you think of this Barside Buzz that an MCU set video game is in development? Is this 5-10 years too late, or would you still welcome this move? Thoughts below.
