Over the last few weeks, we have finally got a lot of information about the upcoming Marvel Studios’ series for Disney+. With the streaming service currently lacking content compared to its competitors it still feels like it’s very far behind. Besides The Mandalorian, the streaming service has really depended on nostalgia. But it looks like that will soon change with the addition of series like WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Solider.
Yesterday we got some phenomenal news about one of my favorite characters from the Marvel Universe that they are bringing to the small screen, Moon Knight. The reports were that Star Wars Alum, Oscar Issac is in talks to play the complex character, Marc Spector. While this casting is still not set in stone, we have more news about the production team.
According to Deadline, Clash director Mohamed Diab has been brought in to direct Moon Knight. Currently, nobody has made an official comment, but the word is that the Egyptian filmmaker is onboard. Jeremy Slater is Moon Knight‘s showrunner, leading the writing team for the series.
Who Is Moon Knight?
Moon Knight aka Marc Spector is a mercenary with a variety of alter egos. One is a cabbie named Jake Lockley, millionaire Steven Grant, and the all-white dressed Mr. White. He uses these personalities to better fight the criminal underworld. It was later established that he was a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. The character was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin and appeared in Werewolf by Night #32 in August of 1975.
I am excited to see how this develops. Moon Knight is one of the most interesting characters in the Marvel Universe. So far I think that they have done a great job of bringing in the right people for the series. What do you guys think of the series developments so far? Let us know in the comment section below!
