According to the latest Barside Buzz, Temuera Morrison will play Captain Rex in Ahsoka. Thus far, there has been no hint of Morrison’s involvement in Ahsoka. Yet, it would have been odd to not have Rex show up alongside the rest of this Rebels cast. One Take News says that they’ve heard Morrison is in Ahsoka, and will definitely suit as us Rex, and maybe even other clones.

Temuera Morrison will be making his return to the Star Wars universe later this year in 2023’s Ahsoka, multiple sources tell One Take News. Morrison will be returning as the fan-favourite Captain Rex, although it’s unclear if he will appear in flashbacks or in present time. It’s also unclear if Morrison will be playing any other clones in the series.

LRM had great sources at Lucasfilm ourselves in the past. Therefore, being able to verify certain details with BSL, I can vouch he is legit. Most readers already know our sources tightened up for now. A lot of people got spooked when Lucasfilm went after the leakers. Maybe one day we’ll get some information again from those sources? However for now, we’ll just share what we hear from other sites. All in all, I’m vouching for BSL, but as with all rumors, take it with a pinch of salt.

I kinda hope that Rex is not just there in a flashback. However, that all may depend on his current status. After all, we are pushing into a decade after Return of the Jedi and Rex is a clone, they get old real quick. It could be Filoni has decided to have Rex pass away before Ahsoka begins? I’m not suggesting that is the case just pointing out that the only solid info here is that Rex is there at some point.

As I said, it would have been very strange for Ahsoka, Sabine, Hera, Chopper and maybe even Zeb to go looking for Ezra and Thrawn and not have Rex even be mentioned. However, that doesn’t necessary mean he’s a major player either. I’m really looking forward to Ahsoka now, and yet when it was first teased I had more worries than excitement. Amazing what a trailer can do eh?
