Ms Marvel co-creator hopes for Season 2, however is coy on The Marvels movie and what comes next for Kamala Kahn. Sana Amanat was executive producer on Ms Marvel and also happens to be a co-creator of the comic book version of Kamala Khan. The A.V. Club recently spoke to Amanat about all things Ms Marvel. Although the ep knows where Kamala’s story goes next in the movie, she’s not talking.
“I can’t say too much about The Marvels yet. All I can say is that it’s all been leading up to this point. It’s the reason her powers are a bit different than the comics, we knew she’s going to interact with the larger MCU storyline. We were trying to tell a story that would tee up with the next chapter of Kamala’s life. There are going to be some elements in the movie that connect to what’s transpired here. Beyond that, I can’t talk much about it.”
“I know what it is but I’m not going to be able to tell you. [Laughs]. I have all the answers. We put it in there for a reason.”

However Amanat is very keen to see this story progress in a Ms Marvel Season 2.
“Oh my God, there’s so much I would want to do in another season. Certainly more elements of Pakistan, the Red Daggers, and her family history. What happened when Hasan got on that train with baby Sana. I have thought about all of this. We weren’t able to get into it in season one, so going to Pakistan and even pre-Partition India is a large part of Kamala’s story. It’s one of my favorite things the writers did, they made it into its own special thing. Her story continues on The Marvels, but I’m not going to lie, I’ve been very public about my wanting a season two. We’ll see. I don’t know.”
I guess that The Marvels movie will conclude with Kamala getting to come back home again. It would therefore be interesting to see who that experience has shaped her and explore her life again in a Ms Marvel Season 2. From what head Writer Bisha K. Ali said recently, there was a lot of backstory still to fill in.
So Ms Marvel co-creator hopes for Season 2, what about you? Did you love Ms Marvel and want more? Did you hate Ms Marvel and want less? Or did you think it was ok, but would like to see them given a chance to improve? I personally sit in he latter category. Let us know your own thoughts below or over on Discord.
