Well it looks like James Gunn’s Suicide Squad film is filling in all their missing roles in the next few days. Earlier it was reported that Steve Agree had agreed to join the film and provide the voice for King Shark. Now Deadline is also reporting about another beloved actor joining the ever growing cast.

Nathan Fillion will be starring in 2021’s Suicide Squad in a role that is currently being held under wraps. Fillion has worked with Gunn several times in the past including the voice of a monstrous inmate in Guardians of the Galaxy, Bill Pardy in the 2006 horror comedy Slither and the Holy Avenger in 2010’s Super. Fillion joins Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Flula Borg and Steve Agee. The script was written by Gunn. Chuck Roven and Peter Safran are producing and Nik Korda is serving as executive producer.
Fillion currently stars in ABC’s series The Rookie, which kicks off it’ second season on September 29th. He previously starred for eight seasons on ABC’s Castle as a mystery novelist named Richard Castle. Other credits include Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and the cult sci-fi series Firefly, which lead to the film Serenity. He has also voiced the Green Lantern in various Warner Bros. Animation films like Reign of the Superman and Justice League: Doom.
I am very curious about what DC character DC has cast Fillion in for Suicide Squad. Who do you think Fillion should play in the film? Let us know in the comment section below!
Warner Bros. Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released August 6th, 2021.
