New BLACK PANTHER Set Photo Reveals New Logo?

The whole process of filmmaking and advertising is an ever-developing, ever-changing process. Talk to any filmmaker, and a good number of times, scripts are being rewritten on the fly, and as we saw with such films as Suicide Squad and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, sometimes films are yet again being remade yet again in the editing room. Such is the case with a lot of the advertising we see that’s often inseparable from the film.

A few years back,Marvel Studios announced a slate of ten films to be a part of their Phase 3. We saw our first Black Panther logo then, and not too long ago, we saw a revised version of that logo that also featured the updated Marvel Studios banner. The film itself just recently started shooting, and in a tweet from Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito, it looks like we may have yet another logo for the film in store for us.

Have a look below:

As you can see, the back of the chair features a look that’s a bit more rustic in nature. Rather than maintain that fancy, sharp sheen that the previous couple iterations had, this one has more of an animal quality to it that’s very fitting of the character.

For reference, you can take a look at the original logo below, or the second iteration of the logo at the top of this piece.

Of course, when that original logo was created, Marvel Studios had very little in mind as to what a Black Panther film will entail. In the time since then, the character has shown up in Captain America: Civil War, a script has been written, and production has begun. As such, there’s a good chance that this new logo truly represents the type of movie we’ll be getting when all said and done. That being said, studios aren’t above having multiple logos for their films, so we’ll see if they’re consistent with the use of this one as time goes on.
