Today Entertainment Weekly has given us a new look at Ruby Rose’s highly anticipated Batwoman. In the image you can see her pointing what looks like a grapple gun. Her character is something that everyone on set is very excited to see, including Rose herself who can’t help her excitement while watching her own footage exclaiming, “Look at that suit! Look at that red hair!”.

EW had the opportunity to be on set for the filming of certain scenes that took place in Vancouver at a derelict mental health facility that had been turned into the infamous Arkham Asylum. They are reporting that it will be during the middle hour of Arrow, where Rose’s Kate Kane aka Batwoman will be making her debut. The team of The Flash, Green Arrow and Supergirl have traveled to Gotham City to track down doctor John Deegan at Arkham Asylum. In the scene shown in the image Batwoman uses her grapple hook and Batarang to stop a couple of inmates from escaping the Asylum, saving some of the heroes in the process.
Speaking about Batwoman and what we could expect from the character, Arrow consulting producer Marc Guggenheim said that, “Ruby’s amazing. She brings such a different color and tone. She will interact with our heroes both as Batwoman and as Kate Kane, so you’ll see both sides of that character and that performance.”
Rose also talked about her characters personality compared to some of the other characters. “She is more fun because she’s a billionaire, she has ladies that love her. I think, for the most part crossover-wise, she’s swaggy,” says Rose. “She always knew who she was, but she’s really coming into knowing who she is in the crossover, and with Batwoman as well. It’s not the first time she’s put on the suit.”
As for how much Batwoman we are going to get, we get the idea that her inclusion in Elseworlds is mainly supposed to serve as a tease for what they hope will be her own series. Arrow showrunner Beth Shwartz said that, “There’s a lot of mystery to her, which I think will be intriguing, and people will want more after they watch, for sure.”
This is setting up to be a very exciting crossover event. Along with Batwoman we are also going to be seeing the debut of Lois Lane, The Monitor and even Psycho-Pirate. Not to mention having our heroes visit not only Gotham City but like we’ve said before Arkham Asylum, it will be interesting to see how many Easter eggs they decide to put into the infamous location.
