Disney fans have a reason to celebrate today as “Red,” the latest single from the much-anticipated Disney Original movie “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” is now available on DisneyMusicVEVO. The release is accompanied by a dynamic music video, also available on DisneyMusicVEVO, marking the fourth installment in the hugely popular “Descendants” franchise.
“Descendants: The Rise of Red” introduces viewers to the adventurous tale of Red (played by Kylie Cantrall), the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora), and Chloe (Malia Baker), the perfectionist daughter of Cinderella (Brandy). The storyline intensifies as the Queen of Hearts initiates a coup against Auradon, compelling the unlikely duo of Red and Chloe to unite and thwart her tyrannical plans. The movie is set to premiere exclusively on Disney+ on Friday, July 12, followed by a special encore presentation on the Disney Channel on Friday, August 9, at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT.
In a preview of the movie’s opening sequence, viewers get a glimpse of the electrifying song “Red,” where Kylie Cantrall, portraying the titular character Red, brings a wave of chaos to the kingdom of Wonderland. Fans will have the opportunity to see Kylie Cantrall perform “Red” live during “NerdNite” at Vidcon in Anaheim on Friday, June 28. Additionally, a dance tutorial for the song, choreographed by Kelly Sweeney in collaboration with Millennium Dance Complex, will be released ahead of the film’s premiere.

The single “Red” is now available for streaming on major platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. It is also featured on the Official Descendants Playlist. The full soundtrack from “Descendants: The Rise of Red” is available for pre-order and pre-add on Walt Disney Records.
The film boasts an impressive production team, with Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh as executive producers. Directed by Jennifer Phang and scripted by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer, the movie features choreography by Ashley Wallen (“The Greatest Showman”) and a score by Torin Borrowdale (“Searching”).
