The launch of Destiny 2: The Witch Queen was very trouble free and also well received by the players. However there are some post-launch patches coming for a few issues that have been spotted over the last week. So far most fans of Destiny 2, myself including would say this latest expansion has had the best campaign yet. I myself have managed to finish the campaign on legendary difficulty already, however Destiny fans know that’s just the start. Sadly work has kept my progress so far from being as far as some, but I’m getting there slowly but steadily. There is simply so much new content that it’s extremely time sapping. However I guess it’s a marathon and not a sprint, for most.
Campaign director Joe Blackburn of Bungie has now taken to social media to talk about the games impending post-launch patches. Whilst Blackburn praises a great launch he has also responded to both some criticism and a few unforeseen bugs that have arisen. Check it out.
First, aren't super happy with how unpredictable it can be to complete Report: Relic Data for the Evidence Board quest chain. [2/13]

Feel free to join me in the Wellspring this week if you want to be one of the first for a crafted version of these weapons, but know that next week this step should be a lot easier to make reliable progress. [5/13]

Next, Ascendant Alloy drop rates aren't where we want them. This Thursday we are getting some fixes for Ascendant Alloy's to be more predictable in high level activities. [6/13]

This will mean higher chances at earning Ascendant Alloys for Gold/Platinum completions, but we will continue to monitor and adjust drop rates as the season progresses. [8/13]

Right now we are looking at an interaction that centers around Synthoceps and a few interactions that center around Suppressive glaive as problematic. [10/13]

It's been so great to enjoy the Witch Queen last week alongside one of the best communities in gaming, and we can't wait to get out and play the raid and the rest of Season of the Risen along with all of you. [13/13]

I have to say although I am not quite far along enough yet to have got to the frustration of drop rates of the new crafting system I am seeing fellow players lament the grind on Reddit. One can only hope by the time I get to crafting my perfect weapons the drop rates are improved.

As for the problem areas, we don’t know for sure what it is that’s being fixed about the Glaive suppression mod. Right now it seemed to proc on any melee hit, which costs no ammo. However that’s kind of an in built feature of the new weapon type. It may instead be a bug players have reported where a player can remain permanently invisible and therefore safe from damage whilst using this weapon and it’s seasonal mod? As for the Synthoceps exotic gloves those have been a bit broken since last season. However Bungie thought they had fixed the issue with this expansion. I guess they were wrong?
In terms of the World’s First Race, that is this Friday when the latest Raid launches. The first 24 hours have a special contest mode which is really all about all the pro-gamers and streamers racing each other to see who can finish it first. I hope to get into that Raid within the first couple of days, but I am nowhere near ready for a first day completion. It’s therefore likely the mod and the exotic armor could both be disabled for that first 24 hours.
Finally there are also two issues not included here which Bungie have acknowledged. Both are currently aiding the player base more than they should. The IKELOS SMG and the Imperial Needle combat bow are both doing far too much damage for their type of weapon. It seems both these guns are somehow classified as exotic guns in the game and therefore do the new increased 40% damage buff that all exotic primary ammo weapons received this season. However, seen as they are only legendary weapon, it makes these two stand far and above any other legendary weapon in the game right now. I expect both of these to get disabled before Friday also, unless a fix can be put in place first.
Ergo, post-launch patches coming for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. Let us know what you think of this below if you are a fan of the game?
