According to the latest Barside Buzz Harrison Ford is playing President Ross in Captain America: New World Order. We already knew Ford was replacing William Hurt as ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. However, the latest from Daniel RPK on his Patreon is that Ross will in fact already be president of the USA in Cap 4.
This rumor was then backed up by Grace Randolph, and no one as yet has come forward to try and debunk the claim. It is possible that the events of Secret Invasion set up Ross as president, which carries forward into New World Order, where I’m guessing he loses that title. This could set up the situation needed for Thunderbolts afterwards?
This, if true would also mirror something from the comic books. In the comics the events of Secret Invasion end up putting Norman Osborn in the White House, where he then forms the Dark Avengers. It could be something similar in the MCU with Ross replacing Osborn. However, for now this is all speculation on my part and for now the rumors is just that.

However IF Ross is president in Captain America: New World Order, then perhaps rumors of a hostile US Govt wanting to invade Wakanda are legit? The question is, how does Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader fit into all of this? Also, does that mean there could perchance be a small appearance for Ford in Secret Invasion we don’t yet know about? Again, all speculation on my part. However it does seem like Ford’s Ross will get a few meaty appearances under his belt in the MCU.
