RDJ’s Doctor Doom WILL Debut In Fantastic Four Post-Credit Scene | Barside Buzz

In a recent interview RDJ details just how Kevin Feige approached him to play VICTOR VON DOOM.

According to the latest Barside Buzz, RDJ’s Doctor Doom WILL debut in The Fantastic Four post-credit scene. The source for this information is a pretty good one, which given the story we covered yesterday (see related section below) makes me think this is legit. The source for this one is Jeff Sneider and if you’ve been following this story, you know Sneider had the scoop on all this before anyone else.

Sneider and Rocha’s The Hot Mic had a title published early saying they had news on the Russos. The day of their show, THR released the news the Russos were coming back to direct the next two Avengers films. Sneider was a bit cross with Marvel, who he says intended it to be a surprise at SDCC, for giving THR the story ahead of his show. So Sneider decided to give a few more details. One that he heard only Stephen McFeeley and not Christopher Markus was writing the films (check). Secondly a crazy rumor, at the time, that RDJ may be returning as Doctor Doom (check). So, in Sneider’s latest newsletter for The Insneider, which is not paywalled this week, he has some more information he says is from the same source.

This is what Sneider says he was sent by a tipster.

Robert Downey [Jr.] is coming back to [the] MCU as an alternate multiverse Tony Stark who is actually Doctor Doom.  Lucrative payday, etc. Will be first appearing in an end credit kicker. Enjoy.

Now we know the Russos confirmed that the character was Victor Von Doom, but pretty much the rest was legit. At the time (late-May) Sneider reached out to Marvel for comment and was told this was not true. Which of course, we now know is a lie because it was announced this weekend. Though, I guess maybe it was not yet confirmed with exact details at the time.

Sneider also dropped this about which post-credit scene he will appear in.

“Of course, they left out the part about the character being first introduced in a mid/post-credits sequence at the end of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but that’s beside the point.”

As for the whole, is it Victor or a Stark variant, or somehow both? Truth is, no one really knows. At least no one outside the inner circle that’s talking. I think we may just have to wait and see how it plays out for now. Sneider also talks a little about how much RDJ will cost, but we will cover that story as per Variety‘s coverage up next.

I am disposed to trust what Sneider says on this one folks, purely on recent hit rate. Therefore, it looks like RDJ’s Doctor Doom WILL debut in The Fantastic Four post-credit scene. Is this just pure common sense, would anything else make more or less sense? As always leave any thoughts below.
