Rey Is A Character In Simon Kinberg’s Star Wars Trilogy – Old Rumor New Source | Barside Buzz

It’s an older rumor sir, but it checks out, apparently Rey is a character who appears in Simon Kinberg’s upcoming Star Wars trilogy. Now as I said, this is not the first time we have heard this rumor. Back some time ago Jeff Sneider claimed that Rey is in the Kinberg trilogy, but not one of the main characters we follow. Whereas, she would be the main character in the New Jedi Order movie in development.

Now Daniel RPK is making the same claim Sneider did about Rey on his Patreon. Again, Daniel claims that Rey appears as a character in the Kinberg trilogy, but she is not one of the main characters the trilogy focuses on. How exactly this will work and what role Rey will play in the events depicted remains to be seen?

Will this be an older recast Rey like the original idea for the New Jedi Order film? Or, are we talking about Ridley reprising her role in a few years time as a secondary character?

What I would say about this rumor and that of Snieder is that the scripting process is not yet finished on Kinberg’s first film. Last we heard from Kathleen Kennedy was that Kinberg had out together a detailed treatment that now needed to be turned into a script. Therefore, it could be that Rey only actually appears in the first film in the trilogy as the others clearly are not yet written. Equally, it may be Kinberg has a map of the entire trilogy and someone has seen plans for Rey to appear in more than one film?

It is expected that we won’t see the first of Kinberg’s movies till around 2030, or after. That was again from Kennedy’s own mouth. Therefore, things could change before release.

What do you think about Rey being in the Simon Kinberg Star Wars trilogy? How would you use her in a new story? Thoughts below.
