Star Wars Barside Buzz says there’s a working title for Star Wars: Starfighter, (makes sense) – and one for Taika Waititi’s Star Wars film, (which doesn’t)! Now we know Star Wars: Starfighter begins shooting this year in London. Therefore, the film absolutley will have a production company name and a working title by now. Well, according to Nexus Point News, they claim to know what those names are.
‘Director Shawn Levy’s Star Wars film was given a title earlier this year, Star Wars: Starfighter. Nexus Point News has learned that Kyber Mist is the working title for this project, and Blue Mist Productions is the production name.’
This is information we normally get around this stage, so I would not question it’s accuracy automatically.
However, the outlet also follows that scoop up with this,
‘Nexus has also learned the working title for another Star Wars project in development, Cosmic Doom. Cosmic Doom is the working title for Taika Waititiʼs long-awaited Star Wars film, and Ghost Truck 6 is the production name.’

This is a difficult one to believe because far as we know Waititi’s Star Wars movie is no where near being greenlit and moved into production. That would be a far bigger story than a working title. Now it’s possible Waititi’s Star Wars has accelerated and is now greenlit, maybe being announced this Summer? If so, that’s been rumored nowhere so far, no scoopers, no trades, nada.
If the film is not greenlit and booked in for production, then… You guessed it, there’s no way it gets a working title or production company name yet. So it’ll be interesting to see how this pans out. Either NPN have scooped a bigger story than they realise, or they’ve been misled. It really has to be one or the other.
Pinch of slat therefore just now until we ate least hear an update in Waititi’s film. Additionally, we will soon get confirmation on the Starfighter details, once production actually begins in London.
What do you think of this Star Wars Barside Buzz? Do you agree with my logic on Waititi’s film, or not? Thoughts below.
