Just as we exclusively reported back in June, Matt Damon is returning to the Bourne franchise. While it’s been all but a done deal for months now, E! News was able to get the actor, himself, to confirm it.
While chatting with the outlet on the red carpet for the season 4 premiere of his reality TV competition, Project Greenlight, Ben Affleck led to Damon spilling the beans. While discussing their impressive “action hero” physiques, Affleck- the new cinematic Batman- let the cat out of the bag. “Well, [Damon’s] going to be doing a Bourne movie next fall when I’ve just completely lost any semblance of physical fitness. So…,” said Affleck.
This lead, of course, to a follow-up question, which is where Damon finally just put it out there. “Yes, next year. It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. [Director] Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say ‘yes,’” he told E!
