As the first adult animated Star Trek series, Star Trek: Lower Decks became a sensation when it premiered on CBS All Access last year. Now rebranded as Paramount+, Star Trek fans get the second season of this adult animated series before new seasons of Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Discovery, and the anticipated animated kids’ series Star Trek: Prodigy.
Now the bottom rung crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos is back in action with more off-the-wall adventures and crazy high jinks. No doubt audiences look forward to what kind of trouble Beckett Mariner, Brad Boimler, D’Vana Tendi, and Ensign Samanthan Rutherford could get them into.
Here’s the synopsis:
The animated comedy series Star Terk: Lower Decks follows the support crew of one of Starfleet’s least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford, and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.
For the second season, fans can expect new strange (and familiar) aliens to challenge the crews of the U.S.S. Cerritos and the U.S.S. Titan. Besides the lower deckers, the heroic bridge crew comprises Captain Carol Freeman (Dawnn Lewis), Commander Jack Ransom (Jerry O’Connell), and Doctor T’Ana (Gillian Vigman).
