It was just a few short months ago, back in July, that Season 1 of Amazon’s subversive superhero drama The Boys landed on the web for us all to stream. Now season 2 has wrapped faster than The Seven’s A-Train can shoot up Compound V. The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke made the announcement on Twitter. Check out his post below.
2:15 am. That’s a wrap on #TheBoysTV #season2. Exhausted but triumphant. Fucking love this cast & crew. Wait till you see the madness. Coming Summer 2020. @TheBoysTV @PrimeVideo #TheBoys #SPNFamily pic.twitter.com/gmd5rCmvof

Now after that dramatic cliffhanger of a Season 1 conclusion, just when can we see season 2 of The Boys? Well, don’t get your underwear in a knot because Season 2 debuts summer 2020. And boy am I looking forward to season 2 of The Boys. It elevated the material found in Garth Ennis’ pull no punches comic book. The series deftly serves up slices of life in a super-powered world where the good guys are narcissists drunk and mad with power. Five years ago, I wouldn’t have believed there’d be a live-action series that’s about superheroes just as much as it’s about the danger of infidelity, drug abuse, and government corruption.
Ever wonder what would happen when Superman has sex? Think he’d get wildly into it and accidentally smash Louis to bits? Unexpectedly, The Boys’ story went down that rabbit hole. But it didn’t stop there. Nope, The Boys even showed the danger of giving birth to a super-powered child that might at anytime explode out of the womb. To put it simply, I am looking forward to the return of season 2 and the continuation of The Boys versus The Seven.
