Maria Canals-Barrera is having a magical year with witchcraft roles. Not only she’s making an appearance back as Theresa Russo in the upcoming follow-up series of Wizards of Waverly Place, but she is also in the horror-comedy Seven Cemeteries as a nearly unrecognizable enchantress.
The film is led by Danny Trejo a revenant who must recruit other undead to save a family farm from ruthless thugs.
Other cast members include Sal Lopez, Samantha Ashley, Efren Ramirez, Vincent M. Ward, Lew Temple, and Richard Esteras.
Here is the official synopsis:
When El Abuelo, a diabolical drug lord, demands a family’s ranch along the southern border, the surviving owner desperately searches for protection. Forget the law, there’s only one desperado—Santana Bravo (Danny Trejo)—crazy enough for the job. Newly released from prison, the legendary Bravo reluctantly agrees to fight for the innocent ranchers. Only one big problem—his badass crew is all dead.
Luckily, fate steps in…
With the help of a Bruja (Mexican witch doctor) and her magical incantations, Bravo resurrects his old posse and leads the unruly band of revenants on a mission to serve up a very special kind of justice.
