In a recent interview Simu Liu confirms he will return as Shang-Chi in Avengers: Secret Wars. Liu is one of a mammoth cast in Avengers: Doomsday. However, not all of the Doomsday cast is expected to feature prominently in Secret Wars. I guess we will have to wait and see how much Liu’s character is involved?

Speaking with People, Liu was asked about when a Shang-Chi 2 could happen?

“There’s not a whole lot to tease right now, other than I think, I sound like a broken record at this point, but it is happening,” Liu said.

“But I think the more immediate tease is of course, is [Avengers:] Doomsday,” he added. “Yeah, which comes out next year, which I was lucky enough to be a part of and will be lucky enough to be a part of its successor in Secret Wars.”

Liu didn’t give anything else about the films away, but he did talk about the co-star on Doomsday he connected most with.

“I came away from Doomsday with like, a lot of, a lot of really fantastic friendships.”

“Channing Tatum … I wanted to shout him out because he’s just one of my favorite human beings. And, um, I just had such a phenomenal time with him, on-set, off-set. He’s just, you know, such an admirable person,” he added.

Frankly, I think the majority of the Doomsday cast will return in Secret Wars, at the finale, like the climax of Endgame. Yet most rumors say the main cast of the film could be Tobey Maguire, Hugh Jackman, Tom Holland and maybe Deadpool. I guess we shall see who else once we get through Doomsday, though RDJ as Doctor Doom is a definite.
