In a quite shocking move, especially for celebrated developers CDPR, Sony pulls Cyberpunk 2077 from digital stores. The move has come after a whole host of performance issues on both PS4, and Xbox One. Ultimately the game just does not work properly on last gen consoles.
Friends of mine have told me Cyberpunk 2077 was pretty much unplayable on PS4 and Xbox One. However, I also have friends who have the game for Xbox SeX and say it’s great bar a few minor bugs. The amount of refund requests has prompted Sony to remove the game for digital purchase.
SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, and we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store and want a refund. Please visit the following link to initiate the refund: https://t.co/DEZlC0LmUG.

And now CDPR has issued a response, you’ll note there is far no mention of Xbox One users. However, that is because Xbox has a request refund option for digital and PS Store does not. So you can get a refund on Xbox also.

I must say that I am shocked and surprised by this. You can see what my expectations levels were like for Cyberpunk 2077 in the related section above. CDPR is one of the most celebrated game developers out there, and I’m 100% confident this game will be great, eventually. I myself was always planning to wait for the next gen upgrade which is due in 2021. By that time I expect most of the bugs will be fixed, for Sex and Ps5.
When it comes to Xbox One and Ps4 though? Honestly, the delays Cyberpunk 2077 already had were reportedly due to issues getting the game running on last gen consoles. For me, it was mistake to release the game this year. What CDPR should have done was admit Cyberpunk can’t run on anything but next gen. Delay the release to really optimize the game and just call it an next gen exclusive.
Of course, the horse has already bolted. The game is out for Xbox One and PS4, and therefore CDPR has a duty to make it work. I can’t help but feel we will never see the game Cyberpunk 2077 could have been, if they had just committed to next gen exclusivity. CDPR has reportedly lost over $1Billion in stock price as a result of this failed launch and the current score for the game is bottomed out on most fan reviews.
