According to the Barside Buzz, Spider-Man 4 will have a new supporting cast, which could mean no Jacob Batalon as Ned. The rumor comes from Daniel RPK on Patreon. Daniel, despite what some outlets published, does not say Ned is definitely not in the film. What he did say he has heard is that Spider-Man 4 will feature a new supporting cast. The film is said to be a fresh take on the character under new director Destin Daniel Cretton. Some fans and outlets are therefore assuming this means Jacob Batalon may not return as Ned.
This story, if true, actually makes perfect sense. No one remembers Peter Parker. He’s got no family left and no friends. He’s likely starting again away from High School and in College. Therefore, I do agree it could be possible there is no Ned in the film. I just won’t declare he’s out based on this alone.

Now, one name not being mentioned by anyone as part of that previous supporting cast is Zendaya. It may be slightly tricky for Marvel to get Tom Holland to agree to replace his fiancé. Yet, insider Jeff Sneider keeps insisting there’s a huge scheduling problem for Zendaya to appear in Spider-Man 4.
My guess, (again, IF this rumor checks out) is that Zendaya will appear. However, given she doesn’t know Peter, I wonder if it will just be a few small scenes. Like, perhaps Peter watching her from afar? In that way Spider-Man 4 could introduce a new supporting cast without completely abandoning the old cast. Meaning Marvel can bring them back for inevitable Spider-Man 5 if that’s the eventual plan.
So, Spider-Man 4 will have a new supporting cast, which could mean no Jacob Batalon as Ned. That’s the Barside Buzz today folks, what do you think of this rumor? Thoughts below.
