Some Spider-Man: Brand New Day rumors as both Carrie Coon is rumored for the main villain and Sadie Sink arrives in Glasgow for filming. Let’s start with Carrie Coon. It has been rumored for a while that Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s lead villain will be female. We first shared a rumor that Marvel were looking for someone like Nicole Kidman ages ago. Before the real casting process even began.
Since then we’ve had several characters confirmed for the film. Hulk, Punisher, Scorpion are definite with several more rumored strongly. However, always with the caveat none were the main villain of the film. There appears to be a puppet master, somewhere.
So, with that all in mind and in response to a question at the end of the latest The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider tentatively suggests he’s heard the name Carrie Coon mentioned. Sneider did indicate this was a third party source and therefore he isn’t necessarily confident. However, he then received a message from a source live on show to say this would match up with something they heard about Coon. Namely, that she was about to film a secret project.
UPDATE: Jeff has since been given more information that the Carrie Coon story is false folks.
Finally got word back on Carrie Coon and hearing it’s not true, so the search continues for the mystery Spidey villain! Looking forward to seeing whatever her secret announcement is…

It’s flimsy and famously Coon rejected the chance to return as Proxima Midnight in Avengers: Endgame after playing the character in Infinity War. That was due to pay and since the character was 80% CGI I doubt anyone even noticed. Coon has blown up since though. Therefore, Sneider wonders if this could be Marvel circling back round for a better payday and a much larger role?
So, is Carrie Coon playing the main villain in Spider-Man: Brand New Day? Who knows, but we may find out in the next month or two as filming moves to Pinewood in London.

Next up we have a rumor that Sadie Sink has arrived in Glasgow to begin filming. Holland has been there filming for the last couple of weeks, and though she hasn’t been spotted filming for sure yet, Zendaya is there as well. So far there has been no sign of Sink, till now.

We may get a better idea of her role in the coming week or two before filming ends on this location. Rumors are a plenty. I checked today and there are three rumored names for Sink’s character we have shared on LRM Online. Jean Grey (yup), Mary Jane Watson and with Gwen Stacy being the most recent/likely.
I have no idea, but Gwen would be where my money goes. I did however see a cool fan theory connecting these two stories. That Coon would be playing a gender swapped Norman Osborn and Sink her daughter [Harry] Osborn. I can’t see it myself folks, but I like the ambition. I really have always felt like the MCU needs its own Osborn family.
